Adding Fitness Into Your Busy Life
Are you a busy mom trying to get fit while also working to build a successful business from home? If so, you are definitely not alone! This is the experience for so many moms I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years. The main issues center around strategies to help them find time in their busy days in order to commit to a regular fitness schedule that will help them to look and feel good while also gaining the extra energy they need so that they can take care of their families. So, if you’re looking for ways to keep active so that you don’t have to sacrifice your health or well-being while you build your empire…then here are a few tips that may help you to do just that while also respecting your valuable time:
- Set time aside before the day begins or as it’s winding down. It’s very likely that you’ll have the chance to sneak away to exercise uninterrupted if you schedule it before the kids wake up or after they have gone to bed. Now, I know it seems like you’re compromising your own personal time by getting up early or working out late when your energy is low, but it’s likely that as you get into your routine, you’ll come to really covet having this time just for yourself with no one else around to interrupt your peace and quiet.
- Keep your exercise sessions short. Studies show that results can be obtained with as little as 20 minutes of fitness activity. Thus, you don’t need to necessarily spend marathon sessions of exercise to experience benefits from your exercise sessions. I truly believe that everything you want to accomplish can be achieved with 20-30 minutes of fitness performed consistently week to week. The key is maintaining the consistency in your weekly schedule.
- Plan to exercise a minimum of 3 days per week. Without a regular weekly habit, you will struggle to get results. This will require that you talk to your spouse or another family member who can assist you by watching the kids while you exercise, and who will provide you with a little accountability to keep you going when you want to give up.
If you’re able to commit to exercising 3 days a week for 20 minutes per session, and on days that you can commit yourself to on a weekly basis, then you will go a long way toward improving your health, well-being, and you’ll also look and feel great while building the business of your dreams. Your energy levels will be through the roof, and you’ll find that you can accomplish so much more than you ever could without this valuable routine in your life.
